100% virgin wool means that only new wool is used, obtained directly by shearing a living animal and processed into a textile product for the first time. Unlike recycled wool, it has not been previously processed or re-used.
Whether a wool blanket feels itchy depends mainly on the type of wool used and the fineness of its fibres. Particularly fine wool fibres, such as merino wool, feel pleasantly soft and comfortable.
