Vests

You may be wondering if there is a difference between a gilet and a vest? No, there isn't. In Austria, and usually also in Switzerland and Bavaria, we say gilet. In the rest of Germany, the term waistcoat is often used. We have kept the style of our Steiner1888 Loden Gilets quite traditional. The most important thing is the insertion pocket in the chest area, which creates space for the pocket watch. It doesn't matter whether you carry a pocket watch or not. It is also typical that the gilet is buttoned. We have an important tip for all gentlemen: leave the bottom button of the gilet unbuttoned. Our gilets can be worn casually with jeans, but also elegantly with suit trousers or in a traditional way with leather trousers.
